Addison Franklin (Frank) Marshall Jr. passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Panama City Beach, Florida. Born in 1934 in Tallahassee, Florida, he was the eldest son of Addison and Eloise Marshall. He graduated from Leon High School, Class of 1953. He attended Florida State University, where he joined Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He graduated from the University of Florida, earning BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he joined McClelland Engineers (later to become Fugro) in Houston, Texas. He worked there for 36 years before retiring. At retirement, he was in charge of all land-based geotechnical operations in Texas and Louisiana. His favorite things included boats, beaches, travel, Buffett, and “Gunsmoke.”
Frank was preceded in death by his first wife, Heather Dawn Murray Marshall, who lost her battle with cancer in 2006. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Ann Osborne Jones Marshall; brothers William Dallas Marshall and Bryant Peaden Marshall; sons Murray Franklin Marshall and Graham Colin Marshall; daughter-in-law Kristen Keely Marshall; grandson Colin Addison Marshall; and granddaughters Attie Elizabeth Marshall and Kingsley Heather Marshall. Rekindling a relationship that began in the 1950s, Frank married Ann in 2008. They shared love and companionship until his death. Ann’s family includes sons Al and Andy Jones, daughter-in-law E.G. Jones, and granddaughter Jessica Jones.
A celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 18th, from 2:00 to 4:00 at The Retreat at Bradley’s Pond (9002 Bradley Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32309)
