ADDIE RUTH BELL GILBERT

Addie Ruth Bell Gilbert, 77, of Parker, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010. She was born September 8, 1932 in Elberton, Georgia and had been a resident of Bay County since 1943. She was sales clerk for JC Penny's retiring in 1991 after 28 years of service. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jakie C. "Jack" Gilbert and a grandson, Gerald C. Gilbert Jr. She is survived by 3 sons, Gerald Gilbert, Jimmy Gilbert and wife, Carlotta; Michael Gilbert and wife, Kathy; 7 grandchildren, Josh H. Gilbert, Ashley D. Gilbert, Adam C. Gilbert, Savanna Cameron, Addie Cameron, Jake Gilbert, Jordan Johnell; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Evans, Elberta Bennett and a brother, Jack O. Bell. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Walker and Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to Covenant Hospice or to the First Baptist Church of Parker in memory of Addie Ruth Bell Gilbert.
