JANE ALLEMORE ALLEN

Mrs. Jane Allemore Allen, 76, following a lengthy illness, passed away peacefully at home in the midst of her family on Thursday, July 19, 2012. Born November 8, 1935, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Mrs. Allen was a resident of Port St. Joe since 1937, graduating from Port St. Joe High School with the Class of 1953. Always active in church and community affairs, she assumed the duties of organist for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at the age of 12, a service she performed for almost 50 years. For many years she was a member of her church’s Bereavement Committee, was Education Class Instructor, and was active in CCD and other church activities. She was a valued volunteer at Gulf Pines Hospital where she served as president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. More recently, she volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital. Mrs. Allen is predeceased by her parents, Norman Francis, Sr. and Annabelle Allemore, survived by her husband of 58 years, Ferrel O. Allen, Jr.; by her daughter, Fran Lucas (Mark) and children: Claire Raney (Dustin) and great grandchild, Jane Allen Raney, and Emily Niemeyer (Michael); by her son Steve (Debbie) and child, Stephanie Allen; by her son, Bill (Judy) Allen and children, John and Jay Cardwell; by her daughter, Julie Thompson (Billy) and children, Austin and Abby Thompson; by her brother, Norman, Jr. (Ellen) Allemore. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 EST on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Port St. Joe, conducted by Fr. Phil Fortin and Fr. Tom Guido. An interment service with family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice of Panama City, 107 W. 19th Street, Panama City, Florida 32405.
